I found this dime today and was wondering about it. I usually only look for silver so I have absolutely no knowledge of any errors. The raised rim is completely missing only on the obverse and some of the lettering is cut off. I know they are crap pics and I apologize but my iPhone is all I have to work with. Thanks everyone.

Yeah I know they suck. Basically there is a faint outline where the rim should be almost like it is just a really old coin but the back side looks completely normal for its age. Also, the front doesn't look like it has been ground or filed on. If you can't help me due to the crappy pics I totally understand. When I zoom in I can see what I'm talking about but that may just be because I know what I'm looking at.

Based on your pics and description the only likely error would be a broadstruck error but i don't recall ever seeing one that is only effected on one side. Unless you can get a better pic we really can only speculate but im leaning towards PMD.

Looks to me like the planchet was a bit thinner than specs when it was struck. Not enough metal to fill all the areas in the die. I've had a few like that over the years too. I guess it could be a real worn out obverse die also but I doubt they normally let them get to that state before replacing them.

Cool. Thanks a bunch for the response. I just noticed something else on it. I know I had said the back was normal but it's not. USUNUM is twice as thick as the first part. I've put the best pic of it that I can. Again, sorry for the crappy quality.
