Hello everyone,

I found this 1955 Lincoln cent with a D that appears to be double stamped. How common is this? Could it be worth anything?

Yes it is a D/D can you post more pics of the entire coin, It looks to have verdigris so probably not worth much of a premium.....

That's an RPM. Re punched mint mark. Would like to see a good pic of both sides of the coin to make sure its not a doubled die. That's a key date coin!

It's really just around the date that's super dirty.

Here are some better pics...

Yea that's just a re punched mint mark. That happens when the re punch the mint mark by hand in the die its self. Still considered a mint error coin. Nice if you can get the in uncirculated or almost uncirculated condition. I collect those myself.

In the shape its in no not much value. But it all copper so its worth more than a penny. I collect all copper coins no mater what condition they are in in case they ever let them be re melted. Which is illegal at the current time.

Well I appreciate all the help. I think I'll save it for the collection in that case.

I have between 7 and 800,000 coins. The way I look at things is a penny will never be worth less than a penny. I always look down when I am walking!

But the buying power of the penny has gone down. The copper value may go up though. I'd spend the Zincolns and save the coppers.

I also save all the Copper/Brass cents that I dig or come across in change. Also I really admire the Bronze cents as well.
