I'm going out on a limb but looks Chinese so you might google Chinese coins. At a quick glance I found some that look close but not exact. Good luck !

So, sorry but I just found an image. It's Japanese. Google "Japanese coin with wheat" Thats how I found it. Says 5 yen... Hope that helps !

We hadn't either on cent coins until just recently. Same with nickles and quarters. Our dimes retain the same look since 1946.
