1764 Russian Coin

I bought this from a magazine a while back, but I don't have any information regarding it's value. I think it's Russian. How much is this worth?

Yes it's Russian (during the reign of Catherine II 1762-1796)
Need to first determine its denomination. As a general rule, 1KOPEK is 24mm; 2K is 29mm; 5K is 38-40 and 10K is 47mm.

I measured it and it's about 29mm so it's 2 kopek. What is it's value then?

"Patience, young grasshopper." (from The Karate Kid movie) Next is to determine where the coin was minted. Yours may be either a MM or CM mintmark; or perhaps even another mint--I'm not sure. Look at similar coins to view their mintmark. What is the mint mark on yours?

PS: The mintmark (two initials) will straddle the eagles tail feathers--near the base of the reverse.

I think this is a 5 Kopek because I looked it up on ebay and it looks exactly like the 5 Kopeks being sold. Here is the page5 KOPEKS 1764 50,8GR EM DIAM 43 EKATERINA II ORIGINAL $55 on eBay!

The EM stands for the mint at Jekaterinburg; or as '3rictheman' mentioned above, the alternative spelling of Ekaterina. The mint exited between 1762-1877.

If I recall correctly, there are no differences in the design of those copper coins of that series, the only differences are the weight and the size of the coin.

If that's true, how come a 2 kopek from the same year being sold on ebay has a horse on it's back(Russia, 2 Kopeks, 1764 MM Overstruck (Edge-netted, 19.61gr.) on eBay!), but my kopek has a bird?

With the OP's coin, the denomination will roughly equate to 10g=1kopek; 20g=2k; 50g=5k; and 66g=10k.
What is the weight of the coin in question?

I don't have an exact scale, but I measured about 2.5 ounces, or 71 grams.
