I was out shopping for bullion the other day and I stopped in a local dealer. I picked up one of four 1oz California four 9's pure gold coins that he said he didn't know if they were collectable. Anyway an ounce of gold is an ounce of gold and spot price has already gone up almost fifty bucks. I'm no collector I am a prospector actually and I was curious to know if this thing actually is a collectable. Minted in California circa 1999 lol has the state seal on one side and a bear on the other. In a plastic sleeve sealed and with approx 12,000 something number (will post pics later) Weighs in at 33.6g with plastic. Flap on sleeve is paper sealed in the plastic too, gold leaf looking state seal on one side and the other says 100 in gold leaf and the other number (12,000 something). I will post pics sometime in the next day or two.

Anyway can anyone tell me more about this coin?

Ya that's why I bought it and didn't pay over spot price but it never hurts to check.
