Okay this is NOT a coin I found with the MD. I am trying to figure out why there seem to be so many of these seemingly non-dug Spanish copper "cob" coins, that all date in the 1600s, most of them are in real nice condition with a great chocolate patina. Does anyone know of a "hoard" of these that were found somewhere? If so when and where etc?

There are a number of this type on ebay for auction, and am just curious, as to how so many appeared, and why such great condition, etc.
thanks in advance for any tips, help, references.
