Bought a 1929-D Mercury dime in VG-F for $1.65 yesterday. Pulled it out of the junk silver bucket. Not a fortune, but I'll take any win.

Nice! I love it when I get coins that have collector value for about melt. I bought some walking liberty halves for melt last week ( including a 1918d in vg condition).

Congrats on your small victory, but a victory nonetheless. I bought a really nice ( but cleaned) 1931 S Merc a couple years back for melt. It was a semi-key of the series.

Thanks. This is about as cheap as I can find 90%ers (other than CRH'ing). I can usually get nice Bens, beat up Walkers, nice Merc and worn but dated SLQ's for ~$2 over spot from my local LCS. I know it's not a great deal but I think it's reasonable and really don't have any avenues to buy it cheaper. With silver at or under $20 I'm a buyer.
