surprised to see this pop out of the roll today. I spent too much time trying to figure out why this thing is silver plated. Wasn't able to find anything online. Anybody have the answer? It looks like the coin has glue on the flip side. Surprisingly very good condition coming from circulation. Thx for any info

The year of her coronation; I remember it well.
Nearly 68M minted: Bronze 3.24g; 19.10 diameter. Two varieties; one 'with strap' and the other 'without strap'. Can't tell from the pics which one you have. In VF-20 the difference in retail pricing is between 10 cents and $1.50, respectively.
Don.....

Thx don. But why is it plated in silver? The weight is correct. I find Canadian cents like this all the time but copper / bronze color

The glue and the plating can lessen the value, though. Collectors want the original coin without anything like glue on it.
