After my district band audition, it's tradition for my dad and I to go to an antique shop. The antique shop was somewhat like a flea market, with miscellaneous dealer selling in separate booths. There was one dedicated to coins, so I went there. In the glass display case, there was a bowl full of old Chinese cash coins. I looked through them and I found about five that I knew I needed for my collection, and five I had no idea what they were. I paid $21.40 for the lot. When I got home, I looked through my Hartill's guide to Cast Chinese Coins, and found out that all the ones I didn't recognize were Vietnamese and Korean. However, I knew that four of them were Chinese. I looked up each one. Three of them were common issues and worth about $2-5. But one of them turned out to be somewhat rare. By Hartill's guide, it could be worth $50-100!, assuming it is genuine. A nice little score. Pictures will come later.

P.S. Merry Christmas to all!

P.P.S. My audition went very well. It was the best one they heard that day. ;)
