A really easy way is to empty a bottle of vinegar into a shallow bowl - add some salt.pour in the coins..Leave for an hour.
Rinse off the coins in clean water.hey presto - shiny sparkling coins - good as new!

Please dont do this unless the coins are otherwise worthless and/or modern clad coins.

Carbon tetrachoride used to be a favorite of collectors. It may be best to take it to a coin shop for cleaning.
