Hate to be vague but I haven't gone through them all yet. I've got some us half dollars recently from my dad. None are silver unfortunately and only range from the 1970 -1989ish I did notice one or two with Ben Franklin on one side and what looks like independence hall on the reverse. Are there any half dollars worth anything in this date range or should I just bank them?

Also found a 1923 and 1914 buff nickel and a steel penny amongst the pile dad threw my way

The reverse of a Franklin half has the liberty bell on it....not independence hall. You may have confused it with a '76 Kennedy bicentennial half. Some of the later "S" mint halves are 40% silver also, both business strikes and proof.
