Just curious if this dime went through the process incorrectly. An what is the term if there is one for the inconsistency. Speaking of where the ridges should be on the side is round and excess material is creating the ring encompassing the mass of the dime :p

No, it is just damaged. May have been "spooned" intentionally, or damaged somehow.
