Found wheaties today while metal detecting

So we just bought our first metal detector Garrett 350 ace and decided to try detecting outside our house. Well we have one spot by this shrub were we found just over 40+ Wheaties, and still counting. I will post the dates when finished!

Nice, and where there are wheat cents, there are most likely silver coins!

So my question is.. how do I clean these coins? They are covered with dirt and you can't even make out the dates without trying to remove the dirt..

Soap and water first. Just enough to determine year, mint mark, and potential condition. If none of them are rare or valuable, take an old aluminum pie plate, place the coins inside, add some vinegar, and let them soak for a couple of hours. Then rub them with some baking soda and rinse them off. Repeat as necessary. Or you could just tumble them like your other clad coins but that usually does a bit more damage. If they're rare/valuable, soaking them in olive oil or acetone would be all you'd want to do after your initial wash.

Can't beat having a nice little stash of old coins and tokens right in your own yard. Maybe there's even more good stuff to be found.

Oh yeah. You definitely must have silver in your yard!

I use wheaties ago zone in on old areas. Found two 1920 wheats today, zoned in on the area and nailed a 1917 mercury dime.

Keep looking and go over spots you think you covered already.
