Found this 2012 penny a couple of days ago. Had a whipped look to it but un natural like a error. I posted it to another cointalk forum, but mostly everyone said it was just damaged coin in shape and talked about how it's a coincidence and they've never seen that flag on any coin. Tonight as I'm going over some nickles in my study, I find the same flag! From a 2004 lewis and Clark mint nickle! Tell me what you think because I'm stumped and can't find any information.

And lastly a close up of the nickle. Seems spot on to me but I'm new at this. E

It is definitely just damaged, looks like there may be a scrape there, or just a stain, hard to tell exactly.

So you can stain a image from one coin onto another coin lol. Is that what it is? I appreciate the help, but the two flags are exactly the same. It seems like a big coincidence.

I don't know if you're looking for a certain number of people to tell you it's just a damaged coin before you believe it, so I'm going to also say it's a damaged coin.
