Found this guy hiding in a lot of coins at a garage sale today......I am thinking Roman, but my gut feeling is that its junk....seems to have some weird texture on it, not like rust or decay, its just weird.

This is what I got....

I cant make heads nor tails of it....

(no, really, I don't know which side is heads or tails)

Thanks for your help

Interesting. Is it heavy like lead? I've viewed strange "whiteness" on lead.

looks like a tetradrachm from around 460 BC, but what's the chances....? Cool find but even cooler if it's the real deal.

I think you are onto something, no doubt it is not silver, it could be lead C-Kid, taking a looksy at the edge it seems like a mold of some sort... Just wish it was in better shape, I am sure this aint no 2500 year old coin....that would be crazy.

Could that crust be a reaction from salt water? :dontknow:
looks like it, but I don't know its history(:laughing7:)
All the other coins in the lot were common, modern coins, typical of any grandfathers collection...
