I would have to disagree, no evidence of the blakesley effect. I could be wrong, however.

The clip looks real. Perhaps it was clipped prior to the rim being upset on the planchet? Not sure if that is possible.

I think they're all clipped before the rims are set. They have to be.

Also it's possible for the effect to be missing on a stronger strike.

Thank you for all of you input...and yes; I have never found an error coin in many years of detecting. Although I have found many beautiful old coins. Under a 30x jeweler's loupe, I cannot see any Blakesley Effect, although if it was small, it may have worn off underground?
