I think you are correct a 44 that's been altered , the gap between the 9 and supposedly 1 give it away , hopefully the listing is removed before some one gets burned ..cheers Mick

Yup, altered 1944 for sure, it looks like they tried to scrape the vdb off the shoulder as well.

You can see the shadow of the 4 from where it was. unless I'm seeing things?

Gosh it's amazing at how obvious that is. He must have a lot of fools buying cause he has great feedback. Very obvious of gap between 9 and the 1 (4).

Either a dishonest person would buy it to resale or a complete moron who doesn't have a very keen eye

I don't think we will get the answer to that. I signed in and reported it which means I thought it looked suspicious. If more people that have account there report it that may help. I am not sure of their policy as far as this goes. I believe there are rules against fake currency but how far e-bay will go in investigating a reported item I don't know.

Never reported anything, how do you go about it?

I sent him a message also. Told him go pull it or be reported. I don't put up with sellers like this. They know what it is. They sell too many coins not to know.

Or he may be a complete dumb butt and not know jack. But judging by his seller history I am sure this isn't his first questionable sale

Wow. Yea. Dealt with these kind of jerks before. I had a old Led Zepplin T-shirt that was supposed to be vintage and from a 1970's concert and come to find out once I recieved it that it was from Walmart or K-Mart and relatively new
