A 1975 Penny With a Big 5 Stamped Into the Reverse!

My Big question is what is it. Believe it or not I found this in a penny box in the first roll I opened! You can see before playing the video, some of the 5 you can see on the center of the obverse! There are pictures in the video of the coin. I have done this because I know some of you don't like my videos because they don't show good images of the coins. So I have pictures in my videos now! Thank You any comments would be great!

Someone stamped a cent with a five, who knows why. Most likely just boredom and a number five punch!

Counterstamps are done for many reasons.

the fact there is a Number makes me think of some of the Club Hunts I've attended in the past.
Prize tokens were usually Painted coins, But Occasionally Counter stamped Pennies were
used. I'm pretty sure the Go Minelabbing event in Atlantic City used counter stamped Wheats one year.

I'm not saying this was definitely from a Detecting Event , But the fact it has a Number,
it was most likely a prize token for something

Yes it looks like a real Memorial worth 1 Cents at the bank & store

Probably worth 2 or more cents to someone who collects counterstamps

I prersonally Like digging Counterstaped coins because there is added history there,
even if it can't be learned

I'm taking for granted Jolteon is familiar with Pennies to know if it is the Right size & weight
and feel for a copper cent.

That really didn't help my scale says 0.1 ounces that doesn't really help

it costs the mint several cents to make a Penny.
Would probably cost a Small time counterfeiter a few Dollars
