Hey Don....thanks, I do see similarities here so its possible this coin could be from the 1600's ? I now know a little more about what to look for.

Potosi 2R 'pillars and waves' coins were minted between 1652 and 1773, the date would appear below the 'SVL'.
The mintmark, assayer's initials and the date all seem to be 'toast' on this coin, though a fraction of the last number in the date is visible.

Thanks guys for the info., I appreciate it.... Kingskid, aside from the gold wrap, I'm wondering if it has any value? I actually paid .75 cents for it and a sharks tooth pendant.
