It appears that it may be either the VAM-50 or VAM-76! Check the diagnostics for both very carefully and do understand that there are quite a bit of difference in Early Die State/Stage (EDS), Middle Die State/Stage (MDS) and Late Die State/Stage (LDS) Dies and the coins they produced.

Get it graded for what purpose? The coin is approximately VF. Why bother?

To see which VAM it is because I looked at a few of them and none of them look the same and to see if it's really is one or not or if I'm seeing things and so I could put a price on it I'm still new to coin collecting so grading coins is not for me.

You don't need to send it anywhere to determine the VAM variety. Posting pics on any number of coin forums will get you a definitive evaluation. Or, you can do it yourself. http://www.vamworld.com/1878-S+VAMs Start with the "short nock reverse" series.
