I need some help... I'm struggling to find information online about these. I've learned the exchange rate is No Bueno, they're not worth much unless you collect these types of foreign coins and even then, they're still not worth much.

But this one is special. It's missing the last number of the date. Is it due to an over polished die? I thought I saw a faint hint of a #5, but only one when the light hit it just right... I don't know if it's grease filled because the area is just so flat and smooth as if nothing was meant to go there.
Is there any value for these?
And ... I think it has some machine doubling madness going on!?
Check out the lettering, it's flat, but then so are the letters. Hahaha

I have several other foreign coins dating back to 1944. Most are from Mexico but some are from Canada, Japan, and Deutschland. Any good websites out there to get information and value?

I didn't take a lot of close-up photos, but if you need some let me know!

Thanks for your help! :occasion14:

Very weird. Have the same coin... Somewhere, but ends in a 4, 1974.
Interested to see value. Mines worth, nothing.

Welcome to Treasure Net !!
IMO, interesting but has no premium value; from the series 1970 through 1983. Copper-nickel in composition.
If the date turns out to be 1977, that would be the exception to no premium value.
Don.....

Well thank you all for your insight!! and ya I hear ya, I was hoping for a premium!! :tongue3:

Mackaydaon...so what's up with the '77's which makes them so special?? I might have one!!

I thought I read somewhere that if it's struck through grease, there might be something to signify something was supposed to be there...but I can't remember where that tid bit of info came from Lol ...As with some coins I've seen, there is almost like a ghost of the letter or number remaining, but this one has not even a slight impression (or raised device).
Is it often the case with a, let's just call it a "severe struck through grease" example like mine?

and thank you for the link! I have NGC Bookmarked and stored in my favorites! (coneca, anacs, koinpro, as well as a few others) :occasion14:
