Help with ID of coin

I saw showing my favorite pizza shop guy a silver coin I'd found and he says to me "Hold on let me show you something..." and he goes off to get this coin.

He's Italian but I'm not sure if that matters in identifying the coin. This coin and others like it are about the size of a silver dollar but thicker perhaps. He asked if I could identify them, they were left to him when his Father passed away.

Unfortunately I don't have the coins to take measurements or weight and he said he does not own a gram scale. Holding one I thought it felt about the weight if not heavier than a silver dollar.

Any help identifying what this is, coin, token, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar piece-- and it's a copy of a Roman sestertius coin (mine though, had a different emperor but same rider on horseback on reverse). That said, I'm not sure how old these copies are. Maybe early 1900s maybe as far back as the 1800s but not sure if they date older than that.
