it's not Scored (Damaged on Purpose by the Mint)

so it's either Illegal or Fake.

I'm also Not sure if the date & Legend were on another Die back
then, or if this is just a Token makers Die.

Just a die for striking silver rounds or tokens. The only problem is him calling it a coin die which it is not.

Yeah, that's some pretty shoddy work, but I fail to see how it's illegal or anything. There is no date, or other lettering on the die at all to indicate mintage by the US. Looks like a novelty item to me. Nothing wrong with it.

Only Illegal if it were a Mint die
or made to Counterfeit coins.

Which it is Obviously Neither.

Its terrible artwork and 1018 cold roll is so soft it'll be mushy in no time if someone actually tries to strike anything with it. Unless of course, they actually go through with finishing it off to make couterfeits and heat treat it.

Looks like the work of a very bored metalworker with little to no skill. :D

Hey I did just as good a job when I worked in the aircraft biz....one day I got the bright idea to use a dotco sanding disc grinder thang to sand off the face of a quarter. Then I used an electric engraver to create my own design."One Bozo", with a crude rendering of Bozo The Klown on it.

It was of the same quality as that die.

No wonder the guy got no bids on it.
;D
