Agreed, bypass the auction houses. This type of collection is best sold directly to retail customers via eBay. By looking at completed auction listings you can get a really good idea of what to charge.

Was the silver in the other two boxes slabbed? MS-70 Silver Bullion coins tend to sell for 2x or greater their value in bullion. Buying graded bullion isn't my thing, but it does appear to be popular on eBay and they do go for a premium. I've always thought of this as a very artificial market, but that's just my opinion...

Nearly everything was slabbed (I'm learning) and graded. One box was full of individually slabbed Boy Scout silver coins from the US mint.

I saw military type coins, special event silver coins, and boxed sets with silver and gold. I'd estimate the collection is 80% - 85% new US Mint silver...based on what I looked at.

I forgot to ask, has anyone seen a Japanese Peso before?

I thought it was cool no matter the value.

Most states REQUIRE an estate inventory and appraisal. It can be no fun.

They were made for Japanese occupation in the Philippines. I have a few.

Seems like you have quite a few good ones in there. Hope you get what you want and more out of it!

Everything there would be very easy to google and get a price on and then just divide it up with his brother and let each sell.
