I found this King George copper in a neighbor's yard:

King George II copper.JPG

I know it is a George II, but the date and back are very worn. Is there any way to date this coin by the bust? Is there a date range for this type of bust? Thank You.

Thank you for the info on my coin! Wow, definitely pre-dates settlement of my town.

Hey there, and welcome. Those circulated commonly in Vermont, and for a long time (into the 19th century). If that is your first, congrats! A great feeling...

Thank you for all the helpful info. My driveway is the old town road and my house was built around 1800. I have found 2 other King George II's near the old road in my yard, but this is my first with a lot of detail. I found a 1787 Connecticut Copper in my yard as well.
