Found this on the back of a 2006 d dime. It almost looks like a rivet. There's nothing showing on the front.

I would want to see the obverse also. No way I see that being an error either way.

The obverse looks completely normal.

Well then, it looks like someone attached a lapel pin (or tie tac) to the reverse, and it subsequently broke.
