Greetings,
A collector friend sent me to this forum so that I might get some help with this coin. I do not know if it is a mint error or fake. I came across it sorting through my mother's estate. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Question. On the image of the reverse. Is that extra rim raised or incuse?

Take it out of the flip, and a bit better focus. I want to see a clear reverse image.

Time for coffee!!!

I agree with Frank, not an error. Looks like someone pressed another coin into it.

Thank you for the better pics. The coin shown is clearly damaged post mint. Likely someone pressed one coin into another.

Yepper, after seeing it out of the flip you can definitely see it's a vice job. Another coin was pressed into it. I stand corrected. Sorry it wasn't something special!

Well, I'll admit to being a bit disappointed. However, I am grateful to everyone who took the time to look at the pictures and share info.
Thank you all.
I have come across another odd coin and will post it tomorrow.
