Stopped by a hay field down the street from my house ten minutes later I found this can’t make out the date I’m guessing 1785? Anyone have any ideas of how to clean and preserve I’m fairly new to the hobby 53ACB422-1C49-4441-A5AD-DC8070739336.jpeg E17D58AB-CA63-45DD-8191-B4B7E7DE5DB3.jpeg

How did you find it, MD or ?, how deep, open field or previous house. Nice if it cleans up.

Nice Nova recovery! :occasion14:

IMHO: no water, use a toothbrush and tooth pick to remove dirt...etc.

These farm fresh coins in today's high power fertilizer get toasted, understand that it will never be perfect! Still a beautiful coin. :icon_thumleft:
