Have a difference of opinion going- so instead of hijacking someone else's thread, I thought I'd start a new one.

I'll post a few pics and let you folks decide for yourselves.

To be fair, PCI was recently bought by a very well known numismatist. I understand they are getting better now. One particular person has pretty much taken over Ebay as far as PCI coins go. Now you'll mostly see the gold lable ones, which I'm assuming are newer grades.

If you wanna get REALLY inconsistant, check out the old red lables. You won't find many, as they're practically unsellable.

It is just so hard for me to believe. I have sent in Washington quarters before that look 10X better than that and got a MS64. Why would you even send in a quarter that looks like that and isn't even a good date??

The quarter looks like it is doubled on "IN GOD WE TRUST", I would have sent it in as well (all thought I am new to this coin collecting).
As for grading, pffftt! I have yet to get into all that, my head is still spinning from trying to learn what is what...GL!

PCI is better than alot of the crap out there, but a far cry from NGC, PCGS, ANACS or ICG. Old PCI (green label was conservative and dead on most of the time, sometimes will upgrade with todays standards). I personnally wouldn't waste my time or money to have them grade my coins. Resale is horrible, but if you buy the coin and not the plastic, there is bargains to be found in PCI slabs

Hi Jeffro

Since J. T. Stanton of Stanton Book Co. has taken over PCI
and has a new group of graders now the attribution process has
improved. J. T. Stanton is a well reknown attributor of error
coinage here in the USA & if one of the Writters of the well Known
book CHERRY PICKER vol. 1 & 2.
