    Found the biggest part of a wheat cent today

    I don't know much about error coins, but something happened to this one. Any opinions? Thanks

    I would need to see the edge, but I'm not seeing any sign of the Blakesley effect.

    The other guys are right. That is a clipped coin. The mint did that when it was stamped, accidentally. It is worth more than a regular wheat cent. Nice.

    The coin's planchet was punched out of a planchet stock sheet on the edge or end of the sheet, thus the Straight Clip and yes it is genuine as you can see the Blakesley Effect on "E Pluribus" on the Reverse.
