I don't know what happened here.
The last digit in the date was eaten by a Sasquatch.

It looks like it was a 1923. It's odd that part of a digit would be wiped and the other half would look so clear.

I still think yours is a 1925.

Time for more coffee.

I wasn't disagreeing about the date.
There is no indication that the coin took a hit.

Look closer at the "5" and you will see that the top horizontal (West to East) bar took a hit. You can see the moved/displaced metal and that the bar is now oriented West Southwest to East Northeast.

Just send a Dutch Bros gift card. Starbucks cards are burned, just like their beans.

Also, trifocals since 35. Bifocals for 15 years before that.

I say 1925, but took a hit PMD. The line of the hit is in the same directional from the tail of the 9, same as the top of the 5, however strange that the lower portion of the 2 didn't get hit but the top of the 2 did.

My vote 1923.
Funny, the damage was only to the "2" and "3".
I see it as normal circulation wear, not mint error.
Good Find! :icon_thumright:

It is a hit and a 1925. There's absolutely no doubt that this coin took a hit to the top of the 5 AFTER it left the mint.
