Penny for your thoughts? 68 and 80D

Gorgeous looks like double die action?? And then this 80 D that seems so have a die error? Thoughts appreciated

To me, it looks like the '68 is a late die state that deteriorated enough to blur the lettering into the rim. The 80D look like it was corroded and then cleaned, or it was a beach coin that got sand blasted.
