Wheat penny?

so I see people talking about these on here are they special or somthing should I start keeping them ? I just got this in some change last week but I have tossed them metal detecting

If it’s new or Common yea. I could care less about a modern penny or somthing by Toss I mean either throw it in my coin jar or just end up spending it somwerrr just not holding on to it. Although yea I have tossed them into thickets lol

Unless they're cut or destroyed somehow, wheat cents are worth more than 1 cent. Common ones are worth only about 2 cents, but depending on year, mint mark, and condition, others can be worth thousands. Look them up before you just toss them in the change jar or spend them.

That's a coin dated 1909 and has a "S" mint mark and the initials of the designer, "VDB".

There are some valuable wheat cents most are not but I keep the ones I find. Gotta get a coin book if your in this Hobby hate to see you toss something out when you dont know anything about it

so you don't have a chance of finding the 1999-P Wide AM or the 1984 double ear (sold for $100). both worth hundreds in XF or better condition. my 2ND '99 WAM may sell for $200+, 1ST sold for $115. sorry for your loss--- now go buy a REDBOOK

Red book values are a little high but it really is a great resource
