Was going through a few rolls of pennies and came across this one a few minutes ago.

At first I thought I was looking at paint but it turns out the lamination is peeling off the penny.

Do you think this pmd?

Common with modern cents. Thin plating over zinc. That is why Zincolns have been reviled for 27 years.

Time for more coffee.

A closeup of raised area might help but I agree with galenrog this is likely just PSD from water getting under the copper plating (probably at the raised area) and the copper being raised as the zinc oxidized.

The greyish area on both sides indicates it has spent time in a liguid environment.
