This coin appears to be very old, it is very thin and uneven.

The image is almost cartoon like which is weird to me...

I can only make out some of the letters or symbols on it so I am not going to write them out as it would just be a string of random letters in not particular order.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? Is it a real coin or token? Is it actually antique? Can you understand what it says? Is it rare?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Looks like an English hammered long cross coin. Not sure if it's genuine or a replica. Almost looks too good to be real. I'm sure Crusader will chime in her and set us straight as to which monarch and if it looks to be genuine.

Well could you tell us if you found it or not. If you did then it would likely be real.

I agree, the reverse text is not same, and the obverse is different too - the regent has a big nose, the other guy, long/narrow one... Edward II...???

Holt0222:

People are attempting to help you.

1. What is the weight of the coin?

2. Where did you obtain this coin (provenance)?

If you do not answer these questions, thus working with the experts, then you will be considered a troll and your credibility with any potential future posts will be diminished.

I, for one, am curious as to those answers; it looks like a great find.

Just an FYI I am not the original poster. I was also the first to ask for a weight. I am saying that the coin I linked to is most likely the coin that the original poster has, I requested weight for verification.

Holt0222...oops, you are correct...my bad. I think my frustrations with people who post stuff without answering/acknowledging questions and who do not bother to follow through with proper research distracted me.

Maintr88...my post should have been addressed to you.
