Yes it was stamped to Make money from 1 Cents :tongue3:

back in that era they were stamping pennies every time they thought people would pay a $1.00 or more for a Lincoln cent that was stamped.

The most well known was Kennedy Facing Lincoln & a card claiming Similarities Between the 2.
I remember Lincoln Smoking a Pipe
and another Facing a pot leaf. There were many different ones

I'm thinking the one with the marijuana leaf wasn't really stamped in 1964, though I also wonder if there is something significant about the year to cause them to stamp it.

From what I remember of the period, they all seemed to appear together & in most cases Dates didn't Matter.
The moon landings Did & Other events at that time may have.
Though I Never saw them for sale The stamps may have also been big Business once they realized
people could turn Pennies into Big Bucks :tongue3: maybe in get rich quick Magazine schemes of the Period.

I remember a Flea Marketer at the Local Farmers market with what may have been Hundreds of different designs
for sale. any price I would quote would probably be Wrong. My memory ain't that clear.
They came & went fast Though. Those who got Hooked on them apparently lost interest fast too,
and the sellers gave up.

Kind of like the pet rock. Thing is, fads come and go, then sometimes come back again. Selling a stamped penny for $1 is a pretty good markup, especially if you have the stamping process fairly automated. The biggest part of the investment would be the actual stamps. And if you had a laser etcher the sky would be the limit as to the designs available. I was at a gun show once and someone was selling grains of rice with Bible verses lasered on to them.
