I'm hoping that there is still a good amount of activity in the western suburbs to guide a newbie. Should be receiving my new AT Gold within the next week and it would be great if someone local could show me the ropes and give some insight on local laws in regard to detecting in parks/public land. Thank you in advance!

Quick question, if you're not looking for gold nuggets why did you buy a gold nugget shooter? Maybe you meant to get the AT Pro? :skullflag:

Hi Terry,
I’m not opposed to looking for gold nuggets. I’m very close to popular creeks and streams known for gold deposits and there are old mining towns just twenty minutes from my home. I was under the impression that the AT Gold would fit a variety of needs when it came to this hobby. Perhaps I misinterpreted the information I read.

Got my AT Gold this week and headed out to a small park in Lakewood, CO. I set the AT Gold to the All Metal setting and found a 1981 penny, a few nails, an odd shaped piece of metal, and a pop tab. Not a bad first hunt for only being out for about an hour.
