My friend in business analysis work mentioned that due to the continually worsening economy this entire corporation's future is in jeopardy. He has actually enrolled back into college part time hoping this will save his hide. It's a whole lot worse out there than some Americans know. But they'll soon get an education.

No, this has been coming for some time. You can't play with make believe money forever.
Agree with you 100%. This didn't happen because of the current administration but in my opinion they are not doing anything to help the problem.

"We the people" are the problem and "We the people" need to be the ones to fix it.

How's that CHANGE working out for ya? That was the first of many, many lies Oba-Mao told to the American people. Here's one more for you: Obama is NOT the first black man to hold the office of the President of the United States. He is the first mulatto to hold the office of the President of the United States. And no one should get all atwitter and throw that race card. If you check the scientific biological information you will find that statement true.

That photo is actually an insult to Urkel. HE had a lot higher IQ than the "O".

    prospector40 - I hear ya.

The problem as I see it is that we are working within this two party system. Neither party is working off the ideals that the country was founded on, the same ideals that a huge part of the population still believe in.

When election day arrives, all too often we feel the need to pull the party lever and vote for the lesser of two evils. This has been happening for decades, I for one would like to see an end to it. I'd like to see a legitimate third option, a third option that believes in the Constitution, would actually listen to the people and would be held accountable.

Anything can be fixed. The problem is, at what price? Have we gone too far to fix the problems the easier way?

A 3rd party will not make a good showing until America is in great distress or the two main parties aren't running a black candidate. People are too traditional party loyal today.

When there's not enough food on the table and Americans have to experience real hardship--then a 3rd party has an excellent chance of winning.

But then again, the powers that control this country can easily ruin any potential candidates future because they control the media. They know exactly how to make people hate a person.

We are in this mess because of greed, pure and simple.
Greedy big business and greedy politicians who took the graft from them.
That is what got us in this mess but it sure as heck wont get us out of it.

Term limits would help solve the problem but the foxes guarding that chicken house wont have any of that.
    Yep we are screwed.

Yes I agree to a point. But the problem is really much deeper. Too many Americans today lack what others decades ago had. That is, a basic sense of what's right and wrong and the internal ability to maintain that sense.

Years ago this was known as "horse sense" or just plain "common sense." From the ability to establish a "common sense" philosophy of life came the ability to develop and hold to convictions.

Today people in general are confused and so wishy-washy they really aren't capable of developing convictions about anything. They're mostly sheep looking for the best charismatic shepherd who can make them feel secure when in the real world everything is falling apart.

The root cause of our mess today isn't corrupt politicians or business persons. The ROOT problem is we have too many voting age people today who aren't really capable of cultivating and maintaining a thought. In other words, they can't think. Therefore they must be led as sheep unto the slaughter.

They're ever learning but never able to come unto the truth.

Here's the real question, however. Would we be experiencing different results now if someone other than Obama had been elected? I personally believe the current situation would be near or exactly the same to what we're seeing now, no matter who took the wheel.

The current economy was not the fault of any one person. Most of America worked together to create the present situation and, as GG put it, the driving force was greed, pure and simple.

I don't believe an intelligent individual should possibly expect one person to be able to fix the whole problem alone, nor should an intelligent individual blame one person if the situation didn't improve to their liking.

To blame the voters on the president is akin to blaming a car buyer because the new car he bought broke down on the way out of the lot. Nobody has any way of knowing what kind of president any of the candidates would have turned out to be. We all know hindsight is 20/20, and it's wayyyy too easy to point fingers when you don't like what's going on at a given time.

I believe that if by some chance the economy does turn around, unemployment drops to zero, and there's a huge drop in the national deficit by the end of his term, no one would credit Obama for any of it.

We all know there's no such thing as a "hunted out" location.  Let's stop using that phrase to describe a park out of which you just dug a pile of coins!  Obviously that particular place wasn't "hunted out", right?

Re: Did I Do That? Obama Humor

While I don't like a lot I'm seeing these days I do (believe it or not) respect all authorities in our country. Yes, even those I personally can't stand to look at or listen to. But if I addressed them face to face I'd show respect to their office.

Obama didn't get into office by chance or ill thinking. These things are only symptoms and never the root cause.

Why is he in office? It was destiny, that's why. It was meant to be so, that's why he's there (Romans 13:1).

I've always known this. Most of my posts here were (as I stated or implied many times) for a thesis paper I'm doing at this time. What I wrote I meant and it was my opinion. I wasn't just pretending. Maybe some things I shouldn't have been so blunt about but I wanted to stimulate interesting responses.

I'll soon be leaving TreasureNet because I've pretty much collected the info I needed.

You all were great and I really do appreciate your posts here and elsewhere. I will return to read only in the future (once I've decided to exit).

teddy P.S. Oh yes, thanks even to those who hated my posts and put me on their blocked list.

    You're kidding right?

I think most Americans know right from wrong, and have very strong convictions about what they believe in. The average American is not in politics, or in charge of deciding whether their jobs go out of the country, or if illegal aliens should be given amnesty, or if we should import more than we export.

In fact I have never spoken to one single American (not in politics) who is in favor of any of those things, the average American has very strong beliefs and convictions concerning those subjects.

I would not advise you to turn in a thesis with such an inadequate definition of the root cause, or the state of the mentality of the average American citizen, and expect it to receive anything above a D-

Not even the liberal educators (the real ROOT of the problem, along with the fact that God and patriotism have been removed from the schools) would be that naive. My advice to you would be to do some more research before turning in your thesis. (back it up with hard facts not just conjecture)

However, I do believe that your statement would apply to the average student in college. I blame the educators for passing on their own liberal wishy-washy ideals of tolerance and open mindedness, instead of teaching students how to think and form opinions for themselves, based on more than just their own liberal agenda.

Therefore it is little wonder why so many of the voting age students have no sense of right and wrong or convictions about anything other than idealism, with little knowledge or concept of the real world.

Actually, I believe we agree on the problems, perhaps just not on the root of the root causes for them.

    Sincerely,
    GG~

I don't believe that for a second. All of the liberal news media and all of liberal America would say and think that it was all because of Obama. That kind of thing happens now. Of course what ever the news media says the sheeple of America follow it. To me it is pretty obvious that the media has a bizarre fascination with Obama. If all of that stuff happened the dems and libs would be jumping up and down chanting OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA!

I'm sorry, I thought I had been more specific with that statement. What I meant to say was that "no one here" would give Obama credit for this kind of turnaround. There's very obvious anti-Obama sentiment running rampant through Treasurenet, and I meant to say that nobody's opinion here would change about him if he did pull off what I mentioned above.
