Darn! So, they are saying my teachers and all the history books lied? 1847?? Civil War Era??

Jeesh! All the history books talk about is the period in the 1860's (1861 - 1865 to be specific) as being the Civil War Era.

So now, we can look at the more peaceful times of the 1980's as being part of the "War on Terror" era?

Nobody cares what happened in 1847 but attach the CW tag-line and all of a sudden you have "creative news"...

Unfortunately history is partially correct, however, those 'creating news' are above the line...

Do you want your obituary to read that you died of natural causes or for it to read that you were "engulfed in a flaming explosion"...

Re: Taking Credit where it isn't Due

stefen, at least you know your history :headbang:

For others, I guess it helps if you understand what you read in books :laughing9:

Yes, it would be considered Civil War era, although the fighting didn't start until 1861, the seed was planted in 1820 with the Missouri Compromise and addressed again in 1854.

Least you forget the Reconstruction period ran up to the late 1870's, all are parts of the Civil War ear. :headbang:

So the term era is correct ;D
