Seems to me the reasons were relavant at the time.
looking back I can sure ask myself ....

"Just what were you thinking boy?"

Jeesh, it sure was fun.

Yeaa...Buddie!
And now we tell our grandkids "Don't do this...But if you have to try, here's how you need to do it and stay alive."
Being a crusty old grandpa has it's benefits even if your children don't agree.
We sheltered our own and now we have to make the next generation meaner to survive. That's our mission in life because we survived.

:-\ Whew, those pictures make me squirm, just lookin at them, a tragedy just waiting to happen. :icon_scratch:

Here is an update...

On 6-24-08 Tuesday at 3:00 pm I had to jump off a piece of run away equipment on a steep mountain road, I jumped feet first into the ditchline side of the road.
(Trust me - It wasn't pretty.)

No broken bones, just a lot of the color purple.

Things happen in life when you are being careful, why would you push things to the limit as in those pictures above.

Here is a picture of my purple tattoo's 2 days after I jumped.

Had I still been married to my ex, I would have died first because I wanted too. :tongue3:

I'll have to say that I'm not guilty of one of those dangerous situations. A couple of them maybe, lol!!!

I have 2 little boys myself and I sit back and tell them dont do this and that, being just like what my grandparents told me. I had to do it anyway and alot of the times I let mine just so they can see.

I tell all the grandkids they have two ways to go.
Option #1 is listen and obey.
Option #2 is "IF you're gonna act stupid;then you're gonna have to learn how to be tough."
7yr old grandson failed to heed option #1 recently.Dinged himself pretty good with me watching.Too tough to cry and holding back tears of pain at the same time he looked at me and said...
"Boy ! Pappy , you shure gotta be stupid to act tough !"
I think he is getting the general idea of the lesson for the day.
Next lesson is "Don't throw a rock at that hornet nest."
Don't ask me how I know that this is good advice.
