    newbie

I'm new to this site, but have been metal detecting for about 20 years now. I found this piece about 2 years ago in northern wisconsin. It was about 12-15 in deep, on top of the highest point in the area - and in the middle of absolutly nowhere in the woods. My question to you all - Do you think this is just a chunk of copper or is it an artifact??
After seeing this site it really made me wonder. I always thought that it looked like an axe or hatchet head. This piece is about 6.5 in long, 4 in from top to bottom, and a bit more than 1 in wide. Thanks for any input.
