Possibly a Monster Conical and a Bunch of Float Copper

Found all these pieces of copper along a river today. A couple pieces look like they might have been worked but most likely they all are just pieces of float copper. The conical type item is made of a real thin brass or copper and is 8 inches long. Could this be a sign that there may be copper artifacts nearby? Thanks for looking!

Wow, a lot of nice copper pieces there, looks like it could be a work area where float copper was found and the natives used this to craft many of their tools. You might want to try back there, who knows what you will come up with. If there is a river nearby, try searching the banks of that. Looks like some mass on some of the pieces, nice work . No help one the id of the long brass rod though. HH

It does kind of look like part of a lightening rod . Really nice bunch of float copper Brad. Hope I do just as well when I get back to home in the U.P. in Oct. Have a place not far from Mass City if you know where that is. Good luck on your future hunts.

The thin conical copper definitely looks like historic period copper. I have found through experience that when you find that much float and scrap copper in one place you most likely have found a workshop site and will likely find some finished artifacts in the area, don't give up on that site yet.
