Hey guys!

I've decided to start a log to help me keep up with when/what I find. I started hunting a couple months ago with cents, but changed to nickels after picking up a box and finding a V and Buffalo in it. I've been hooked on nickels ever since. I've found 1 50-D which had fire damage and 0 39D so far. I'm guessing I've searched ~4-5k in nickels so far. Hopefully I can keep up with the log to keep better records!

Picked up $800 in nickels for the weekend. Had $200 more, but dumped them at the next bank when I saw they were all new.

Box 3 was pretty rough, but the others at least gave up 1 interesting coin. The 38s was the only 38 I found and is in great condition. Looks like 5 steps. The Buffalo ender was in box 8. Found the 43d in the 2nd roll and thought it would be a better box, but I'm still happy with it. I just started saving 2009 nickels this week and was surprised with what I found this weekend. Out of the 205 I have so far, they are all D. I'm going to hang onto them for a while and probably throw some on feebay. Going to dump $600 tomorrow (I dumped $200 yesterday) and head to a bank that will sell me all their CWR and bags off the counter. Hopefully they have something good for me.

Wow you're doing some serious nickel volume and finding some good stuff. I like the buffalo ender and finding a '38S in such nice condition is a great find too. Its strange all the 2009's you've found so far are all D's. Obviously its because of you've location. I just finished a pretty good nickel box myself - 2 silver, 1 dated buffalo & 6 '09's (4 P & 2 D). I look forward to following your nickel log the rest of the year.

So I managed to pick up a box of halves and went through them this morning. Found a 1967 and 1968. Also picked up a bag of nickels and $15 in crw (quarters and dimes). Got skunked on the crw and working on the bag this afternoon.

That was a really good bag. And its kinda strange how u find so many 2009D's and hardly any 2009P's. I'll probably get some more nickels tomorrow myself. Btw, was that a $100 nickel bag?

Picked up 2 boxes yesterday. Both were new to I traded them at the next branch. Went through 1 last night and the other tonight. Hoping to find a bag today also. Also picked up $19 loose halves. Skunked.

Well I'm all set for the weekend. Picked up $70 in half CWR and had great success! Also, $15 in dimes and $6 in nickels CWR, skunked on those. Got a $200 bag of nickels, 2 boxes of nickels and $250 bank wrapped rolls. I'm going to start with the bank wrapped rolls. From what I understand these should be the same as getting a bag off the counter so hopefully someone cashed in their collection. Results coming later!

Yesterday I picked up $140 CWR halves, skunked.

Also went through some of my pre 60 nickels searching for Hennings, skunked there also.

When u refer to Henning nickels are u referring to the '44 no P nickels or other dates as well. I think there r supposed to be other counterfeit dates too but Im not sure what to look for.

Ok thanks. I think I vaguely remember seeing something about that guy on tv years ago but I cant remember now for sure now. His mistake on those '44 war nickels sure was a whopper huh? lol I wonder why he chose that date to counterfeit. Well, good luck with your nickel bag - hope its another good one.

No problem! Yeah, he really goofed up on the 44. Not sure if that's what got him caught or not.

Picked up a $200 bag of nickels Wednesday and yesterday got a $64.55 partial bag of nickels off a coin machine. Results aren't so great! I need some silver! Today I'm getting 2 boxes of nickels I ordered and hopefully the partial bag of halves from the bank I got the partial bag of nickels. If not, I'll try for a couple more boxes of nickels.

Stopped by a bank I've been able to get boxes at on a whim today and got 2 boxes of nickels. Went to pick up the other 2 boxes I ordered, the head teller was out of the country and they didn't get ordered. Stopped by the bank next door and picked up a box, got outside and noticed they're all new. Bleh! I did end up with my first DCAM proof and my first MWR war nickel ender so that made up for it a little.
