If I thought it had any value, I might. Would something like that sell on e-bay for a decent amount? I've been saving some of the NIFC's so it wouldn't take much to complete another folder.

It's so hard to say. It's really worth what someone's willing to pay. Looking at the sold listings on eBay it seems like they go for $50-100? So who knows... Is the time collecting them worth that possible profit or would you be better served spending your time searching more boxes?

People generally pay a higher price for completed albums on ebay because it is already finished and some collectors don't really want to put pieces together and make the set. If you want, put it up on ebay for a price slightly higher than what you expect to get for it-- maybe you'll get buyer.

I've heard many people say you can sell darn near anything on e-bay. I might as well give it a shot. Even if I could turn a modest profit, it would still be worth it since I'm searching the coins for silver anyway.

Car breaks down, but I score silver

12-19-14: $250 box of dimes (Loomis): 1957
12-19-14: $250 box of dimes (Loomis): 1963-D, 1 Canadian
12-21-14: $100 box of nickels (Loomis): no silver, pre-1960 (12)
completed 12-24-14: $500 box of quarters (Loomis): no silver, 1972 AU, 2001 Panama quarter.
12-24-14: Approx. $50 loose and CWR halves: Went for a drive with the intention of hitting a few dozen bank over a three or four hour period. My car broke down--was lucky to just get off the road and into a parking lot. Called a tow truck and as I waited walked into a US Bank within the Smiths grocery store--asked if they had any halves. He said some guy cleaned them out of $700 worth yesterday, but he and the other teller had $11.50 in loose halves. BINGO: 1959, 1961, 1964, 1964-D, 1965, 1967 (2). I've often heard people say that people trade in their loose change to get money for Christmas gifts. That seems to be the case here. As the teller counted them out, the silver appearance leaped out, but he was oblivious to what he had.
One of the other tellers today, when I asked if he had any halves, got out his tray and turned it edgewise and asked if there was anything there that looked interesting. He seemed to know that coin junkies scan the edges, so he allowed me to scan his tray. There was nothing there. He sold me a few loose halves and I was on my way.
12-24-14: $19 loose Ikes: skunk

Last silver of 2014

12-31-2014: Approx. $160 loose and CWR halves: Hit five banks on the way home. B of A had all the silver today. At my first stop the teller is counting out a few loose halves, and I hear the tell-tale clank of a silver coin. Then she says, "Hmmm, these two are really shiny. They must be brand new. Hmmmm, 2005." Of course I knew she had a couple of proofs. Sure enough, she handed over $7 in halves, including two 2005-S proofs, and a 1965. I struck out at three more banks, but went through $60 in CWR at another B of A and scored a 1969-D.

Nice to finish off the year with a little teller tray silver. And the grocery store silver was pretty cool too. They just look at me like I'm crazy when I ask at mine. There's a Coinstar about 10 feet from customer service, so I imagine they all go there.

Four silvers in eight boxes is a little sparse, but a few of the guys in the forum are suffering through brutal double-digit skunk streaks, so I guess I can't complain.

I find gazillions of NIFC's. I have all of them in my Whitman folder. The only ones I save are the 1987's. I don't see many of those.
