A little disappointed because it's not the same outstanding success I had back in 2011.

Decided to give dimes a shot. Have never found a silver dime.

It's all about the volume. No skunk streak lasts forever, and amazing boxes are a mathematical certainty if you just keep on searching. Good luck. I look forward to seeing your future postings.

A box with 4 silver Roosevelts is a nice box. Can't remember the last time I found multiple silver dimes in a dime box.

** 10/26/14 $100 CWR Halves yielded me (1) 1968 Kennedy This is good as it gets my momentum back for halves. Was getting concerned that a searcher has cleaned out my very small area. Ended my skunk streak of -4 boxes. Excited for my first ever box to come in this week.

Dumped 1,100 worth of dimes today and picked up 3 more boxes of dimes. I've got some work to do on these and will post results tonight! Wish me luck fellas.

Box 1 - Skunk (4 box skunk streak)
Box 2 - 1942 Mercury Dime
Box 3 - Skunk

2 box skunk streak

Still waiting for my gf to wake up and do it.

I'm so stoked. A merc was my next goal! Pics later after I catch up on walking dead.

Happy hunting!

Okay so I decided to make a quick stop and pick up some half dollars on the way home from dinner. My best find yet. $180 in Halves (1) 1964 Kennedy 90% (1) 1967 Kennedy 40% (2) 1969 Kennedy 40% (1) Weird gold 1990 Half dollar Any idea what the gold colored one is? Were working on our 3rd box of dimes currently. CRH Porn!

Should I throw back the gold colored one? I'm so stoked about this. This vein of silver is from my workplace and I am the only one they will let buy them, as I'm an employee of said place. And there is $3,500 more in the vault.

Total ounces 1.9oz. Total value at posted Spot $30.10

Happy hunting!

Picked up my first ever box of halves today and it was complete skunk. That is disappointing.
However I'll be picking up $300 more from my place of employment, and it seems it is fairly rich in silver halves. And not a common place people would go to search. Will update that when I get off work at 5 AM

10/28 Part 2

After being skunked on my first box I was disappointed. But I knew I was still sitting in a nice silver vein at my place of employment. After work I picked up $400 in MWR halves and was very satisfied.

Upon opening the second roll I found two silvers sitting together (pics attached.
Total yield was:
(1) 1964 90%
(1) 1966 40%
(1) 1967 40%

Am very happy with the findings.

Hey persistent, congrats on your finds so far and welcome to TNet! There will always be excitement opening up a roll and seeing that silver rim, and even more when that silver rim turns out to be 90%. Wait till you stumble upon a Franklin or a Walker!

The gold colored one is electroplated in a microscopic amount of actual gold, probably a few cents worth, and then sold to suckers on late night infomercials for too much money. I've found several and have always tossed them back. They're essentially worth 50 cents, but still interesting to find. Don't toss it back if you find a solid gold one though ;)

Thanks for stopping by the thread Avago, hope to have the success you're having. And thank you for the info.

10/29/14

$400 MWR tonight:
(3) 1967 Kennedy 40%
(1) 1965 Kennedy 40%
(1) 1968 Kennedy 40%
(1) 1969 Kennedy 40%

Slowly but surely they're stacking up! Very thankful for this. My current vein of silver seems to be holding true to about 4 every $400 grab usually with a 90% as well. Going to pick some more up tomorrow.

It will be interesting to see how much silver you pull out of that $3,500 at your place of work. Welcome to the hobby. You appear to be hooked.

$200 MWR Halves
Skunked!

I will be slowing down for a week or so starting tonight, as I'm going to be marrying the woman of my dreams on Monday. So I'll be sticking to a box of dimes every other day for about a week or so.

Happy hunting!

Congrats one the great finds!

You've peaked my curiosity as to your uncommon half dollar source? I have to ask if you could fill us in? :dontknow:

Maybe a small clue... I'm guessing it's not a bank :laughing7:

Thanks I appreciate It! And yes, she enjoys searching thru halves but doesn't want to look thru the dimes very much, I let her search half of what I get, and she enjoys not having to deal with dropping old coins :).

So I was asking my workplace more about the "old" ones that were in the bag, and she went and grabbed them and came back with two walking liberty half dollars!

$1.00 Loose
(2) Walking Liberty!
So beautiful I had to put them in a sleeve! My favorite find since my mercury dime!
