Greetings fellow coin roll hunters this is my first post on these Forums.
Been doing Cents now a little less than 2 weeks, but today is the first day I tracked how many.
First box of $25 had 518 Coppers and Wheaties dated 1936, 1944-S, 1946, 1946-D, 1956-D, 1957, 1957-D.
Second box $25 had 545 Coppers and Wheaties dated 1929, 1940, 1944, 1948-D, 1953-D 1954-D, 1957, 1958-D.
Both boxes were sealed and the cents were sealed in clear plastic shrink wrap. All of them were hand sorted and I weighed all the 1982 / 1983 cents. In the time I have been doing this I have filled a 2 gallon bucket half full.
I did 4 boxes of dimes and found only 1 silver. But once I gave up on dimes the next day I went into a gas station and got a pretty nice looking 1944 Mercury as change :laughing7:.
What got me initially into CRH was in the late nineties I had to go get change for my mom's business and received 5 rolls of all Mercury dimes.
After joining the military it became a thing of the past. But upon finding a 1909 wheat in a random roll of pennies laying around my house the bug bite me again.
Look forward to posting and if anyone has some tips I am all ears.
Happy Hunting.
~Shawn

What is with the 1983 cents, they are zinc. Coppers stop at '81, with partial on the '82 (some coppers, some zinc).

Just can't find a reason to return any nickel to the bank that was minted before 1970. Someone talk me out of the insanity.

There was some 1983 cents that were minted on Copper. Worth quite a bit so I weigh them all to see if they come up to 3 grams. Last person to find one supposedly sold it for $15,000.

After the volume of nickels becomes too large for your storage space, or falls through the floor of your house due to the great weight, you'll know it's time to release most your nickels :laughing7:

I admit I'm also a nickel addict, but I stopped when my gun safe wouldn't hold any more quart-size plastic bags of pre-60 nics without removing other items of much greater value.

Happy Hunting

Razer: is it common practice for you to search quarter boxes, if so what is your track record( numbers found, avg per box, how many boxes). Quarters are probably the hardest AG's to find. I take my hat off to you, since my biggest recent search on qtrs was $3500 in CWR's turned in to one of my banks, only found ONE silver qtr. The bank even held them for me to take and search $1000 at a time. Good luck hunting.

That was the first Box I did. Thinking about doing more though. Got a couple banks that get the shrink wrapped quarter rolls. Makes it easy to just look at the sides.

My first sealed box of half dollars!
2 x 1969 They were in same roll, next to each other and 5th to last roll.
5 x NIFC

So out of 82 rolls 2 40%. Can't complain at free silver.
Also I found a credit union that has a machine and will let me do up to $150 in loose change free every day. So thats a plus. In addition they sell bags from said machine. Bag Options.png
