I kind of stumbled on this forum by accident. I started going through coin rolls about 2 1/2 months ago specifically looking for the hard to find 2009 dated coins and was pleasantly surprised to find lots of good older stuff is still out there. I search through around 8,000-10,000 coins per week... everything from pennies to half dollars.

So far, I've found all kinds of interesting stuff... some of the highlights to date:

Pennies: 1889 Indian, 1919-D, 1999-D Lincoln (Missing Copper Plating)
Nickels: 1902 V Nickel, 1937 Buffalo Nickel, 1938-D Jefferson, 1942-D Nickel (3), 9 Silver War Nickels, 1949-S, 1951-S, 2006-S (Proof)
Dimes: 1947-D, 1964, 1964-D (2)
Quarters: 1964, 1964-D, 2006-S (Proof)
Halves: 1964, 2003-D

Will post more complete totals later... - John

Jcole: glad to see your a hunter of the 2009 coins. Beside CRH for silver, I save all my 2009 cents & dimes, with the expectations that years to come they will be "SLEEPERS" that may prove to be difficult to find in circulation.

Sorry for the delayed reply... I save the 2009 Nickels and Quarters as well. The 09-P coins are all extremely hard to find out here. Most of the 2010-2012 Quarters are also low mintage, so I save them as well.

August has been absolutely CRAZY as far as Nickels go! I found 170 pre-60s in a partial LOOMIS box (44 of 50 rolls) including a 1937 Buffalo and a 1938-D Jefferson... a sister LOOMIS box had 37 pre-60s including a 1938-S and an AU 1939-D!!! Sadly, these were the only LOOMIS boxes my bank got in this week. There were several BU 1956, 1959 and 1960 Philadelphia nickels in both, along with a scattering of Uncirculated coins from the 60s and 70s. Interestingly, most of the 1970s coins were either 1970-S or Denver minted coins. This tells me the person likely hoarded these coins over a very long period of time, and moved at some point. Also, they apparently were culling the silver as there was not a single silver coin amongst the 207 coins. A non-LOOMIS box I got yesterday had 26 pre-60s including an 1887 V and the very hard to find 1955 Philly. 37-38D.jpg 38s-39d.jpg 1887-1955nickels.jpg

It's been a while since I updated here... September was another good month... here's my tally sheet with some totals. Another 17 War Nickels, 5 Buffalos, and a 1939-S were added to the collection.
