Last boxes of the year, bringing my total up to 10. (yes, ten boxes for a year.. I know haha) Finished these last two today, but I did technically get them from the bank before the 1st, so I think they count.

In other news, my camera is on its way and should be here next week sometime. I hope you're all ready for a massive barrage of pictures.

I can't wait for some pics! I'm curious to see the coins you say are improperly mixed.

I am very excited. Although I do expect the vast majority of the random oddities I have gathered to actually end up being junk, I look forward to the learning experience. Maybe I've even got a few real treasures in there.

What would be the best way to post pictures? I don't really want to spam the board with a hundred+ pictures or anything silly like that. Unless that is cool here?

It looks like I got two boxes of 2017 D's for this week, or at least every single end is a 2017D. Will update if there is anything interesting.. looks likely to be a skunk though.

Got my new camera today, bit of a 'systems test' to make sure I understand how this all works. I'm noticing right away the lighting is a little weird (mostly because the camera needs to be properly mounted.. this stand is not so great.)

Coin pictured is a 1996 Panama cent.

Not bad. Try to get the light coming from the top and see if that helps.

Shiny: please keep the BOX SCORE RESULTS format the same on all future boxes. Its interesting to see how the numbers shift up & down over time. Does any of your banks sell BAGS off the machine, those numbers would be interesting to see. Keep up the good work.

Today I learned that my fancy new microscope camera is completely awful for taking pictures of groups of coins. It works well enough for taking detailed pictures of a single coin, but any picture taken from more than about a foot away becomes difficult to identify what the picture is even of. This shouldn't really surprise me but I suppose I was hopeful.

Oh well, I'll have to try something different in the future. I'll settle for now with taking singular pictures of anything particularly noteworthy. (which there wasn't any of in this box.. just generic low-quality common dates and not even many of them at that. Was hoping for something a little more impressive after the double-2017D boxes last week.... but some weeks are like that.)

BOX 15 (2500 pennies)

364 copper (14.56%)

6 Wheaties (1942, 1942D, 1944D, 1944(S?), 1953D, 1956D)

1 errors/oddities (1 wood grain cent)

7 Canadians (1962, 1977, 1981, 1983, 1993, 1996, 1999)

Other:

$5 CWR (250 pennies)

100 copper (40%)

0 Wheaties ()

0 errors/oddities ()

0 Canadians ()

1 2009 commemorative (didn't keep)

Other:

The copper count is a semi-accurate guess. I did not keep any of it. All coins
in these rolls smelled extremely bad even from a distance.
By far the most corroded pennies I have seen so far. As many as 1/3rd of the
coins were completely unreadable...I actually went and got a facemask for these
things.

Box #17 sets a new (personal) record for Wheaties, which I had a ton of fun going through. Unfortunately they were all 1940-1958 dates and low quality. Honestly felt a little bit like going through somebody else's culled wheats, I would have expected a few earlier dates or higher quality ones among "so many". Regardless, Wheaties are Wheaties and they added a good stack to the growing hoard :treasurechest: Very pleased with the week!

BOX 16 (2500 pennies)

467 copper (18.68%)

6 Wheaties (1917D, 1936, 1951D X2, 1953, 1957D)

My bank didn't have any pennies this week, so I ended up with some dimes instead. Fun to do something different once in a while and I love the silver shininess. :treasurechest:

10 Rolls of Dimes (500 dimes)

Canadian commemorative 'year of volunteers' dime

10 Rolls of Dimes (500 dimes)

1962D silver

Still having trouble getting ahold of an actual box, but I ended up with a bunch of CWR penny rolls this week.
Some old wheat pennies, including a few I was missing for the collection. Somewhat rare to find missing ones these days, so any filled hole is a good week in my book.

100 Rolls of pennies (5000 pennies, CWR)

898 copper (17.96%)

20 Wheaties (1911, 1923, 1930 X2, 1932D, 1935, 1939, 1941D, 1946, 1950D, 1952D, 1953D, 1954S, 1955D X4, 1956D X2, 1958)

9 errors/oddities (1 misaligned die, 7 wood grain, 1 struck through grease(minor))

Been a crazy two weeks, trying to get all caught up.
