temps improved enough today to take the Xpointer out for a Trial run today.

it's a Nice and sensitive pointer
and besides the Bright Color making it easy to see if I were to drop it,
I'm really Impressed with the fact it can be set to Just Vibrate.
The lack of a loud Tone will make it perfect for Busy Parks and other places I don't want the general
Public Hearing & Kids running over to me every time they hear it Beep.

in Interest of Full Disclosure, I must say,
while using a Minelab Explorer SE,
I had severe Backtalk Both Directions .
In my Earphones & in my Hand from the Pinpointer going wild !
I had to turn off the Explorer every time I got down to use the pinpointer.

I do not know if his is just an issue with FBS.
This Spring when getting out with other Detectorists, I will find out & update.

It's a fine line to make a PPer to work into all the freq's of the main detectors to get best depth and smallest metals. My Xpointer never had issues with my F2 or BHs (5.9 and 7.69khz). Maybe the next step is to have a dual or tri set of freq adjustments on PPers. I know other PPers have the same issues depending on detector used.

jeff, did you do a noise cancel with the Deteknix turned on? Wonder if that would take care of the crosstalk?

I love my XPointer. For the money you can't beat it. It works great and will NEVER false on you.

I also put a small piece of electrical tape over the sound hole on mine. It quiets the thing down really well if you like to keep a low profile.
I'm not a big fan of the vibrate mode. When you run it with sound only the battery lasts WAY longer too.

During field trials, look for smiles or a blank stare...these are dead giveaways for those taking advantage of the vibration mode.

I wouldn't be without mine now. Really speeds up target recovery.

What part of the pinpointer is sensitive, just the very tip or the sides as well?

Sorry ! it is not possible to show allot with a Regular Still Camera.
But The Closer to the tip you get the Faster & Harder The Vibration gets.
I also set it with a red Light Flashing which Matches the Vibration.

I would suggest you watch the Videos on You Tube

other cool features the cord on the end makes it virtually impossible to loose.
and stretches easy & long enough to not be a Problem.

Though I did Snag my Headphone cord with it once & had to
untangle them, It was my fault I'm sure.

The Built in Battery gets charged on

my Computer though a USB port.

I just plug the Wire in here

and the red light on the pointer flashes to let me know it is charging.
I haven't charged it in Full yet But I guess like my Cell phone the Light will be full on when Full charged.

I believe at least on the Diver the regular 9 Volt Battery Connectors do not exist.
