Have you ever get tied up in your stock metal detectors headphones, or had them get hung up and get pulled right off your head? Or when you kneel down to dig a target does your headphone cord tip your detector over or just get in the way of your digging?

Now you can upgrade your metal detector to higher end like XP deus, Spectra V3i or CTX3030, in seconds!

The transmitter provide three way to attach it to your detector: You can clip it on rod or magnet stick on your control box, or even hang it on a piece of metal detector cloth. FIELD TEST

The Deteknix lightweight cordless headphones have been the talk of detectorists for several months, they boast a crystal clear sound with no signal delay when used with a metal detector, which is something wireless headphones have been suffering from ever since they became available.

I guess as technology evolves the day was sure to arrive when detectorists became free of wires with no signal delay and based on several reports that day has arrived !.

The headphones are supplied with their own carry case, instruction manual and 2 USB charging cables which can plug into a wall USB charger used with mobile phones or any other USB outlet such as a computer or portable charger. When opening the box you are greeted with a large sticker saying CHARGE these units before using as they are supplied with a minimum charge.

Initial charge on a PC took about three hours and the headphones have an expected range of 6 hours, which is yet to be confirmed, pairing the units with the transmitter was simple.

Volume

These units have a very good audio range and on maximum volume are very loud, so take care when first using them.

What’s in the package

The standard package consists of, headphones, transmitter, stem fitting kit, instructions, charging leads (no charger)

The Headphones (Receiver)

The headphones fold down so they are small and compact, once opened they can be adjusted to your head with the pull down ratchet mechanism, the volume switches are easy to operate.

The Transmitter Module

The transmitter is small and neat and when used with the fitting kit sit’s snugly on to the metal detector stem. The transmitter is charged by a round magnetic spike, so make sure it is aligned correctly with the unit.

In the field

I tested them briefly because I wanted to listen to the audio response and recovery speed on my favourite machines….The Deteknix headphones really lived up to my expectations.

The machines I have tested the Deteknix headphones on so far are :

Deeptech Vista range – Audio good – no delay

Tesoro – Audio good – no delay

GF2– Audio good – no delay

Goldfinder– Audio good – no delay

Fisher Gold Bug– Audio good – no delay

Fisher F75– Audio good – no delay

Teknetics T2– Audio good – no delay

AKA Signum– Audio good – no delay

AKA Sorex Pro– Audio good – no delay

XP Deus – Audio muffled – some delay

XP Goldmaxx – Audio muffled – some delay
